Natural resource information developed by ERIC can be presented as maps that are most readily distributed and applied in digital formats. The information is developed using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and is generally best applied using GIS.
ERIC is licensed by the Australian Centre for Remote Sensing (ACRES), part of Geoscience Australia, to distribute satellite imagery received through ground stations in Alice Springs and Hobart. The imagery is supplied from archives in Canberra.
