The Gourlay Group of Companies

The Gourlay Group of Companies was founded in 2003 by Robert Gourlay. Rob, the Managing Director and Chief Scientist, has one simple philosophy: “Quality food and water are the pathway to health.”

Rob has devoted over 35 years to the integrated services and products that the group now offers:

  • Assess, remediate and manage land for increased production and improved environmental outcomes.
  • Groundwater mapping and exploration.
  • Biological formulations for soil, plants, animals and the environment.
  • Nutrient-dense products to support the human body’s natural capacity to regulate and heal at a cellular level.
  • Water restructuring devices for agriculture, industry and domestic uses.

Environmental Research and
Information Consortium Pty Ltd

Since 1992, Environmental Research and Information Consortium Pty Ltd (ERIC) has developed resource intelligence to support clients in achieving business and environmental outcomes.

ERIC’s professional expertise combines spatial information on natural, infrastructure, and social resources to address planning and management. The development, integration, interpretation, and presentation of resource information improves land development and management outcomes while reducing risks and costs.

ERIC maps information on natural resources at a level of detail and reliability that pioneers cost-effective modern technologies. This information is used to identify new business opportunities and reduce business and environmental risks. Clients select services that add value to business operations. These address the planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting requirements needed to achieve strategic objectives.

Primal Water

In 1995, Rob combined his extensive experience working with ecology, soils, vegetation, Australian geology, and water structure to develop a unique technology for locating groundwater resources. Since then, Rob has located over 5,000 groundwater bore sites, with a success rate of over 90%.

Primal Water assists clients find, access, and utilise natural water.

Rob was awarded Master Dowser of the Year in 2020 by the Dowsers Society of NSW.

Phi’on Elements of Life

In 2003, Rob founded Phi’on Elements of Life. Phi’on operates under the fundamental principle that the body is a self-regulating and self-healing system that responds to a healthy diet and lifestyle. Its objective is to provide science-based information so that consumers can make informed decisions about their health and wellbeing.

Phi’on’s Environmental and Animal Product Range centres on microbial balancing solutions for a sustainable way of life. Formulated, developed, and trialled for broad application, the products represent significant value for clients pursuing agricultural industry and domestic outcomes.

Phi’on’s other extensive Product Collections centre on human wellbeing. They are formulated on the understanding that good health starts daily with the nutrients required for cells to function at full potential.

Products are distributed worldwide via B2B and B2C channels.

MEA Water

In 2006, Rob launched MEA Water® after extensive research and trials. This technology is world-leading in water energy and structure science.

MEA Water® Devices entrain a permanent, negative charge in water to produce re- energised, life-affirming water as nature intended. Benefits are broad, including improved hydration, increased food yields, and removal of pipe scale.

Australian-made and built to last generations, these devices are easy to install and require no maintenance. WaterMark Certification provides assurance to installers and consumers regarding plumbing safety, water pressure, taste, and toxins.

Rob’s research findings are shared globally via podcasts and conference engagements, and devices are distributed worldwide via B2B and B2C channels.

Robert C Gourlay

RFD, B.App.Sc., M.App.Sc.

Company Director and Environmental Research Scientist

Robert is the Managing Director and Chief Scientist of Resonate Research Pty Ltd (www.phion.com.au, www.meawater.com, www.primalwater.com.au) and Environmental Research and Information Consortium Pty Ltd (ERIC, www.eric.com.au) and a principal environmental scientist specialising in biological research, water structure science, groundwater mapping and bore location, resource assessment and management.

Robert is the inventor of the MEA water devices.  He has over 30 years of water energy and structure research, leading to the first MEA water prototype in September 2012, capable of holding a permanent negative charge and structure. The design and engineering have been improved since that time through innovation or feedback from over 300 experiments with water quality, microbes, plants, animal, and human wellbeing. His papers and essays are continuously updated, and new papers added based research outcomes by other scientists dating back to the 1920’s (www.meawater.com)

Robert has professional research experience since 1992 in biological applications and in natural resource assessment and management, technology innovation and application in the areas of remotely sensed data, soil and water management, biological farming, and trace mineral applications.  He pioneered the development and application of techniques in the use of airborne radiometric data for mapping salinity, other soil properties and minerals.  He also pioneered a new mapping technique in the location of deep, fractured rock groundwater sources.

Robert has extensive experience in environmental research and technology innovation in relation to biological farming.  This includes the issues of food security and integrity (nutrition), water energy and structure, and products and services at www.phion.com.au, for human and animal health

His knowledge base and services include:

  • Resource assessment for industry including mining and agriculture
  • Deep groundwater exploration
  • Enterprise site selection based on resource assessment
  • Development and application of soil microbial balancing techniques and technology, including soil reclamation
  • Soil carbon sequestration techniques and measurement
  • Development and application of biological farming formulations and fermentation techniques
  • Development of patented devices to restructure water to permanent negative charge
  • Development of devices to measure food, water, and soil health
  • Development of bio-conversion systems to support alternative energy production waste steams
  • Inventor of devices to restructure water to a permanent negative (-mV) charge for conditioning of drinking water, treatment of wastewater and seawater
  • Human wellbeing and animal health measures
