ERIC applies a combination of remotely sensed (satellite and airborne) and site data to generate detailed resource information. Information is gained through expert analysis and integration of remotely sensed data, field data and archival information to produce detailed maps for resource management and planning.

The developed information is also integrated with existing information on natural, social and economic resources. This integrated information is used to identify development opportunities as well as improve the profitability and environmental outcomes of existing enterprises.
